Dirty Reds Trip Leviathan, 3-2, in Extra Innings

In a low-scoring affair between the San Mateo Dirty Reds and the Nova Scotia Leviathan, pitcher Jorge González was the difference between victory and defeat. The San Mateo left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Dirty Reds win. San Mateo reliever Justin Frederick was the winner. His record is now 3-6. The losing pitcher was Manuel Ruíz. San Mateo, now 22-31, holds down 9th place in the Premier League.
In the bottom of the tenth, Kalino Iolana had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring double to right-center off Nova Scotia pitcher Artie Bates.
González said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
