Monsters Take Nail-Biter Over Squirrel Monkeys
In a low-scoring affair between the Monongahela Monsters and the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, pitcher Gabel Ambrosius was the difference between victory and defeat. The Monongahela left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Monsters win. The win was credited to Todd Dean in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Juan González took the loss. With the win, the Monsters improved to 18-15.

The Monsters relied on designated hitter Colt Allen for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 12th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring double to seal the deal.

Allen expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
