Pajaritos Lose to Black Mambas in Walk Off
|
The Austin Black Mambas took Norfolk pitcher Vicente Medina's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Mamba Park. The final score had Austin getting past the Pajaritos, 4-3. Medina went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 7. The win belongs to Walton Gibbs in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Bill Terry took the loss for Norfolk. The Black Mambas raised their record to 12-19.
George Runnalls was the walk-off hero for Austin. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Black Mambas designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Runnalls said his team "played with focus."
