Seco Helps Syracuse Cruise to 12-3 Win
The Syracuse Starks beat the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 12-3, at Port Huron Park. The Starks got a fine performance from first baseman Javier Seco, who went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The winner was Brooks Sexton in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Dennis Henry took the loss. The Starks move to 18-12 with the win, while the Blitzkrieg drop to 15-15.

With runs few and far between, the Starks had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Syracuse came in the top of the third inning, when third baseman Byron Ballard delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Dennis Henry and made the score 3-1, Starks. Ballard was 1 for 4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Ballard told the Syracuse News. "It's as simple as that."
