Monsters Beat Pride, 8-6
|
The Monongahela Monsters racked up a win at Pride Park, bumping off the Hartford Pride, 8-6. Brian Thomas, who started for Monongahela, pitched effectively for his team. Thomas went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-2. Félix González nailed down his 8th save.
Jesse Winters contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the fourth. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was one at-bat that helped Monongahela get the win.
"We'll savor this win," Thomas told the Monongahela News, "then get ready for the next game."
