The Zoo in Syracuse was the site of a competitive game between the Syracuse Starks and Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys.

The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys beat the Syracuse Starks, 4-2. Syracuse pitcher and Modesto, California, native Stuart Chase led the way. The win gives Syracuse a record of 8-8.

The Squirrel Monkeys got an important contribution from shortstop Bob Hargrove, who in the bottom of the third knocked a 1-1 fastball into left for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 4-0.

"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Chase. "Just do my job."
