Holland Goes Off, But Blitzkrieg Win
|
The Pennsauken Flyers got a superb performance from first baseman Lucas Holland. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Port Huron. The Blitzkrieg won the game, 11-6. Holland was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. José Martínez, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 3-1. Dave Parkinson earned the save, his 1st, for the Blitzkrieg.
Emmett Amavizca, who is tied for 4th in the SAAA in home runs with 5, chipped in for Port Huron with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 5 RBI.
Amavizca told a Port Huron Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Flyers, now 3-13, continue their poor start.
