The Austin Black Mambas topped the Pennsauken Flyers, 9-0, in USSL Triple A action at Mamba Park. The standout performance belonged to Austin pitcher and New Britain, Connecticut, native Dave Newman. The loss has the Flyers at 3-12.

Newman, the winning pitcher, goes to 1-0 on the season. In 8 innings, the right-hander limited the opposition to no runs on 3 hits, while recording 6 punchouts. Newman and the Black Mambas were able to cruise to victory.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Newman.
