Starks Deal Flyers 4-1 Defeat
|
Starting pitcher Rafael Trujillo was a major factor in the 4-1 Syracuse Starks triumph over the Pennsauken Flyers. Trujillo, now 2-0, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Syracuse goes to 7-4 with the win.
Syracuse used the bat of Vaclav Steur to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Starks ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
Steur attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
