Blitzkrieg Win at Pennsauken, 3-1
|
The Blitzkrieg grabbed a win, 3-1, at Pennsauken Park, overcoming a fine effort from Pennsauken pitcher Ethan Gilbert. Gilbert went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Jim Hicks locked down his 1st save. The Blitzkrieg, now 3-0, have hit the ground running this season.
Port Huron used a clutch hit from Emmett Amavizca to get the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blitzkrieg ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I like our moxie," said Blitzkrieg manager Harrison Blackford.
