The 2048 USSL Triple A season began inauspiciously for the Pennsauken Flyers. The Flyers were outclassed, 10-2, by the Port Huron Blitzkrieg. Octávio Cruz went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once in the contest. Todd Montgomery earned the save for Port Huron, his 1st.

Cruz came through for Port Huron with a run-scoring single in the top of the third. He hit a first pitch curveball to center field, staking his team to a 2-1 lead.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Cruz.
