The Baton Rouge Brass finished things off in style.

The Baton Rouge Brass topped the Syracuse Starks, 4-3, in M3L Triple A action at Brass Field. The standout performance belonged to Baton Rouge pitcher and Abilene, Texas, native Dan Smith. Reliever Ron Ward picked up the win. His record improves to 3-4. Jorge Torres took the loss.

Sergio Valentín was the walk-off hero for Baton Rouge. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Brass second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

Smith said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."

The Starks, now 46-56, have lost 4 in a row.
