Drummers Squelch Dogfish Head Offense in Shutout Win
|
Anthony Carney pitched well, but his team, the Milton Dogfish Head, still dropped a 3-0 decision to the Tortolita Drummers at Drummers Ballpark. The win was credited to Gabriel Leeds in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Anthony Carney took the loss. Apaghana Shachi, credited with the save, is now 8 for 9 in save opportunities.
Paul Hall, the Tortolita third baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 2-0, Drummers. For the game, Hall went 1 for 4.
"I like what I saw today," said Tortolita manager Barrett Abbott, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The victory gives Tortolita a record of 57-41.
