Good production from center fielder Fred Wells helped the Nolensville Knights topple the Milton Dogfish Head, 4-2. Wells was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Knights. Jeffrey Eckert, the winning pitcher, is now 3-1. He went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 2. Nolensville is now 41-55. Milton is 52-44.
Wells made an early impact for Nolensville when he stroked his 23rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which came in the bottom of the second, put the Knights on top, 3-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Wells. "And not try to do too much."
