The Vermont Lake Monsters managed to get by the Pawnee ParksNRec, 3-2, at Whips Ballpark. Vermont pitcher Bob Wheelock set himself apart with his performance. Wheelock went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 5-5. Vermont's record now stands at 37-49, placing them 10th in the Menard's AAA.
Vermont used a well-timed hit by Alberto Sánchez to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Lake Monsters ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It was a good effort all around," said Wheelock.
