Floundering Lake Monsters Lose 7th Straight
The Vermont Lake Monsters and Tortolita Drummers provided some drama for the home crowd.

Behind the hitting of James Childs, the Tortolita Drummers stopped the Vermont Lake Monsters, 7-6. Childs was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs for the Drummers. The winner was Roy Harris in relief. His record improves to 1-0. William Robinson took the loss.

This game was not decided until Shawn Kyllo came to bat in the top of the ninth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, the Tortolita center fielder hit a sacrifice fly. The Drummers took the lead, 7-6.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Vermont manager Dylan Smith.
