The inspired effort of Florida second baseman Román García was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-4, to the Baton Rouge Brass. García went 4 for 5 with 4 doubles, while scoring 2. This win makes it 6 in a row for Baton Rouge.
Jermaine Vassell made it 5-4 in favor of Baton Rouge when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Brass went on to win.
