Bethesda picked up a win at Goodyear Hanger Dome, toppling the Akron Blimps, 1-0. Pitcher Cristóbal Noriega was one of the reasons the Atoms triumphed. Noriega went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-0. Carlos Martínez earned the save for Bethesda, his 1st.

The Blimps had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Atoms going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old third baseman Miron Bozovic came to the plate. Bozovic hit a solo home run on a 0-1 fastball from Akron hurler Horatio Hornblower. It was Bozovic's 2nd home run of the year.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Bozovic said.

Akron is 3-5 after the defeat.
