Port Royal second baseman David Mooney was a significant contributor in his team's 8-7 triumph over the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes. He went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Port Royal. Port Royal reliever Liu-liang Liu got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jasper Smulders was tagged with the loss. Port Royal, with the win, is 23-51.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Port Royal trailing 7-4, Mooney hit a knuckle curve from Jasper Smulders for a grand slam home run, giving the Disaster the walk-off win.

Disaster manager Clint Davis wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
