Nishii Excels, But Rainbeaus Win
|
The losses keep piling up for the Salt Lake City Buzz.
The Kansas Rainbeaus had to overcome a big game from Salt Lake City left fielder Taroemon Nishii to leave Wichita Field with a victory. And they did, winning 7-4. Nishii was 4-4 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Miguel Aguirre was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Carl Harris, credited with the save, is now 1 for 4 in save opportunities.
Ben Lindsay dealt the Buzz a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with the bases loaded and Kansas leading 2-1, Lindsay, who is tied for 10th in the PAAA with a .507 slugging percentage, hit a 1-2 cutter for a bases-clearing triple.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Salt Lake City skipper Chris Funk.
With the victory, the Rainbeaus upped their record to 40-39.
