Rainbeaus Come Up Short at Jersey City, 5-4
|
Despite a great performance by Kansas right fielder Jason Durkin, the Jersey City Tritons defeated the Rainbeaus by the score of 5-4 at Jersey City Grounds. Durkin went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Marty Logan, the winning pitcher, is now 1-2. He went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 1. Jordan Murdoch got the save, the 14th for him this season.
In the bottom of the fifth, Jersey City left fielder Rod Clark had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Clark stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 3-1, Jersey City. For the game, he was 1-3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Kansas manager Rafael Herrera. "The effort was great."
