The home crowd had a good time watching the Hialeah Dodos and Athletic Club KC Reserves get after it.
Lee McSweeny impressed in the 5-3 Athletic Club KC win over Hialeah. McSweeny, who is tied for 3rd in the PAAA in home runs with 18, went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. The winner was Ton van Aerden in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Eric Hurt took the loss.
Athletic Club KC took a 5-3 lead on César Vélez's 11th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Vélez hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Hialeah pitcher Mike Park visibly frustrated.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Vélez said after the game.
Athletic Club KC has now won 3 in a row.
