Tritons Win Thriller, 4-3
|
Tritons left fielder Rod Clark put his stamp on his team's 4-3 win over the Kansas Rainbeaus. Clark was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Jersey City in the contest. Drees de Lijser, now 2-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Jersey City now has a record of 38-38 with the win.
Robert Robinson was the walk-off hero for Jersey City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Tritons pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Kansas manager Rafael Herrera.
