Humpbacks Need Extra Innings to Top Redlegs, 5-3
|
John Harper had a good game, but he could not keep the Sacramento Redlegs from falling, 5-3, to the Alaskan Humpbacks at Sacramento Sanitation Station. The Sacramento first baseman was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks in the loss. Jeremy Bearimy, now 2-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 0. Alaskan, at 39-36, occupies 4th place in the Premier AAA.
Alaskan needed the clutch hitting of Xiao-gang Kong to notch the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Humpbacks on top, 5-3. For the game, Kong had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"Anyone who says he's not out there thinking about personal accomplishments is not telling the truth," Kong said later.
