Multi-HR Day for Nores as Patriots Overpower Dirty Reds, 10-8
|
A 4-RBI performance from the 28-year old second baseman Dídac Nores helped the Boston Patriots beat the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 10-8. Boston reliever Jason Miller picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Justin Frederick shouldered the loss. The Patriots saw their win-loss record go to 19-23. At the same time, the Dirty Reds fell to 18-24.
Boston used the timely hitting of Matsuo Ino to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Patriots on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Patriots manager Tyler Carter wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
