Rocks Rally For 5-3 Win
|
The Kansas Rainbeaus got a sterling performance from pitcher Byron Vyse, but the Plymouth Rocks still prevailed, 5-3. Vyse threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Plymouth reliever Mal Edwards picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ray Russell absorbed the loss. Ari Schaller got credit for the save for Plymouth. It was his 21st of the year.
Plymouth used the timely hitting of Kuan Pi to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rocks on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Pi said.
With the victory, the Rocks record now stands at 31-38.
