Humpbacks Squelch Buzz Offense in Shutout Win
|
Mainio Kyyro pitched a gem to lead Alaskan to victory over the Salt Lake City Buzz, 4-0. Kyyro, the winner, moves to 4-0. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up no walks. The save went to Phil Lewis, number 1 for him.
The Humpbacks got a big at-bat from left fielder Remco Mastenbroek. For the game, Mastenbroek went 1-4 with a triple. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Alaskan a 1-0 lead.
"It was a good effort all around," said Mastenbroek.
The victory gives Alaskan a record of 34-33.
