Behind a fine performance from Paul Pitts, the Hialeah Dodos knocked off the Sacramento Redlegs, 4-3. Pitts went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs for the Dodos. The winner in relief was Francisco González. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 1-2. Hialeah has now won 3 in a row.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Pitts hit a splitter from José Cruz for a solo home run. The Dodos, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
