The Sacramento Redlegs topped the Kansas Rainbeaus, 5-4, in 13 innings. Sacramento right fielder Gyoo-jae Kil, in particular, was impressive. He went 5 for 7 with 2 doubles and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. Sacramento has now won 4 straight, while the Rainbeaus have lost 4 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Sacramento left fielder Vicente Gomillion, facing Carl Harris, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Redlegs the 5-4 win.
"It was a test of wills," said John Brown, the Sacramento skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
