Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Polar Bears
Atoms Field was the site of the home opener for the Bethesda Atoms. The contest featured a prime matchup between Michael MacGregor of the visiting Billings Polar Bears and Carlos Sainz of the Atoms. The final score was 14-8, the Polar Bears getting the win. Karst Haazens turned in the best performance.

Francisco Gallardo went 1 for 4 with a hit by pitch. He scored 2 runs for Billings. The 24-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 8-8 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Carlos Rosas. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Billings skipper Marvin Nelson.
