The Sacramento Redlegs got a superb performance from pitcher José Jiménez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Salt Lake City. The Buzz won the game, 4-3. Jiménez threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Poom Saksansin, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 11th save. The 7th-place Buzz have a record of 20-24.
Salt Lake City used a timely hit from Yasuhiko Onishi to get the win. The catcher stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Buzz ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Sacramento manager John Brown said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
