Deron Lewis never let the Disaster get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Brass to a win, 2-0. The winning pitcher was Lewis, now 7-1. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. The 5th-place Brass have won 7 straight games.
With two out in the top of the eighth, Sam Wells had a game-changing hit. The Brass center fielder slammed a run-scoring single off Eric Corbin, making the score 2-0, Baton Rouge.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Wells said.
