Pitcher Denzel Halford was sensational for the Tortolita Drummers in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes. Halford picked up the win, and it was well-earned. In 7 innings, Halford surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Drummers, at 40-25, have now won 4 straight.
James Childs put Tortolita in front, 2-1, when he hit a 2-run home run off Dan Seymour in the bottom of the first. It was his 20th home run of the season.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Childs said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
