Santa Barbara Dismisses Port Royal, 3-1
|
Claude Khatoon never let the Disaster get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Golden Cranes to a win, 3-1. Khatoon, the winner, moves to 5-1. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 3 walks. The win puts Santa Barbara at 31-19 this season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Robbie Fisher? The Santa Barbara third baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Golden Cranes on top, 1-0. For the game, Fisher had 2 doubles and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Fisher said.
