Brass Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Disaster
The performance of Cam Nicholson proved critical in helping Baton Rouge beat Port Royal, 10-2. The Brass right fielder went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Deron Lewis, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-1. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 1 and walking 3. The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Nicholson, who is tied for 6th in the 3AAA in extra base hits with 22, hit a solo home run. It propelled the Brass into the lead, 2-1.
