Golden Cranes Nip Men, 6-5
|
There was no shortage of dramatics at Crane Field.
Good production from center fielder Bob Byrd helped the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes topple the Florida Men, 6-5. Byrd was 2 for 5 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Golden Cranes. Santa Barbara reliever Josh Rainey picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Dennis Heath was saddled with the loss.
The Golden Cranes got a clutch hit from center fielder Bob Byrd. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Golden Cranes.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Byrd told the Santa Barbara Citizen. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
The Men, at 16-25, have lost 4 straight games.
