A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Bakersfield Nobles and Athletic Club KC Reserves.
The Bakersfield Nobles defeated the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 5-2, in USPL Triple A action at KC Reserve Stadium. Bakersfield pitcher John Rigsby had a standout performance. In 7.1 innings, Rigsby surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Jason Miller earned the save for Bakersfield, his 1st of the year.
Bakersfield used a well-timed hit by Adhane Nduria to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Nobles ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Enjoyed this one," Rigsby told the Bakersfield Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Reserves fall to 5-7 and continue to sputter in the early going.
