Fighting Dachsunds Snatch Late Win
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds grabbed a win, 7-4, over the Port Royal Disaster at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Ellenburg third baseman Bill Booth went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Ellenburg reliever Jeff Moore picked up the win to move to 1-0. Manny Rodríguez suffered the loss. Hai-liang Che was credited with the save for Ellenburg, his 3rd of the season.

Booth had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Manny Rodríguez, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Fighting Dachsunds a 6-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Booth.

In postgame comments to the Ellenburg Citizen, Booth said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The Disaster, now 4-15, continue their poor start.
