The Sacramento Redlegs got a strong performance from pitcher Gian-Carlo Maneilli, who stymied the Plymouth offense en route to a win, 8-0, at Plymouth Quarry. Maneilli, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 4 walks. Plymouth drops to 3-3.

Sacramento used a well-timed hit by Guonçalle Sprengel to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Redlegs ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We take it day by day here," said Sprengel, "and today was a good one for us."
