Kingfishers Get One-Run Win at Long Island
|
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers earned a win at The Lighthouse, stopping the Long Island Lighthouse, 3-2. Starting pitcher Martin Elzey played a big role in his team's success. The victory puts Pittsburgh at 43-62.
Pittsburgh used a well-timed hit by Kyung-chul Son to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Kingfishers ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Son.
