USSL Rookie Names #1 Player Thursday, September 26th , 2047 Jon Griffin of the Bompton Baby Lakers proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the USSL Rookie Most Valuable Player Award. Griffin hit for a .309 average while collecting 125 hits, 19 doubles, 5 triples, 30 home runs, 93 RBIs and scoring 93 times. He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 10. Rommel Tomas of the Bompton Baby Lakers finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Tim Wise of the Beaumont Crossbeaus finished third.
