Great Day for Hurst, Hits for Cycle
Tuesday, July 2nd , 2047
At Alouettes Ballpark today, Chet Hurst led Northwest Territory to a 8-6 victory over the Capital Hill Interns by hitting for the cycle, one of baseball's more difficult feats.
"Usually the triple is the hardest one to get, but I was most worried about the homer today because the ball wasn't carrying," Hurst said later. "When I took it deep, I was expecting the ball to die on the warning track, so it was sweet seeing the ump give me the signal to circle the bases."
In addition to going 4-for-5, Hurst chalked up 4 RBI and scored 2 runs in an exceptional performance.
Chet Hurst hit an RBI triple in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, was hit by a pitch in the 7th, walked in the 9th, hit a two-run home run off Víctor Ramírez in the 11th, walked in the 12th and struck out in the 13th.
So far on the season Hurst is hitting .225 with 1 home run, 20 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 43 hits and played in 48 games.
