Cortés Perfect Against Athletic Club KC
Tuesday, May 7th , 2047
Even as he reached the pinnacle of baseball achievement, Claudio Cortés never broke a sweat.
The 18-year-old right-hander pitched a perfect game at Ballpark of Albuquerque today for the Germantown Uruguayans, retiring 27 in a row.
"I still don't believe it," Claudio Cortés told reporters inside the Uruguayans locker room, following the win. "Throwing a perfect game just doesn't seem real."
Cortés was a picture of calm on the mound as he struck out 10 Athletic Club KC hitters and walked none as the Uruguayans took the 3-0 victory.
"I had the best control of my life today and it felt almost effortless," Cortés said with a smile. "I never knew throwing a perfect game would be so easy."
