Minnesota Loses Tom Palanirajan for Season
Saturday, September 14th , 2047
The doctors have spoken and Tom Palanirajan of the Minnesota Loons didn't like what he heard. The 26-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Palanirajan sustained his season-ending injury during the Northville Eclipse game yesterday at Loony Bin. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Minnesota medical staff reported Palanirajan had a torn rotator cuff and would be absent from the lineup for at least 10-11 months.
Running the numbers on Palanirajan for the year, he has made 27 relief appearances, recorded 3 saves and compiled a 6-7 won-lost mark with a 3.50 ERA. In pitching 54 innings, he has totaled 52 strikeouts and 15 walks.
