Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Thursday, August 1st , 2047 After an intense confrontation, both the Pilgrims Hwui-ning Chen and the Athletic Club KC Academy Logan Heck were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Providence-Athletic Club KC Academy game. Hwui-ning Chen will miss 3 games, while Logan Heck was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Hwui-ning Chen commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." So far this season Chen is batting .222 with 8 home runs, 31 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has 57 hits in 257 at-bats, 17 walks and a .292 OBP. Chen has played in 70 games. To date this season Heck is 3-0 with 11 starts and an ERA of 1.46 with 62 strikeouts in 55.2 innings. |
