Superb Year for Bruno, Wins Outstanding Hitter Award
Wednesday, October 9th , 2047
He may have less experience than most of his USSL Double A peers, but that didn't slow Javier Bruno down at all in 2047.
At the age of 23, the Chesapeake center fielder has been named the winner of the USSL Double A Outstanding Hitter Award.
He had a .319 batting average and a .414 on-base percentage this year. In 73 games he piled up 83 hits, 14 doubles, 3 triples, 25 home runs, 69 RBIs and 65 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Chandler Schroeder of the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs finished second in voting, while Lee Montgomery of the Virginia Beach Whales finished third.
