Bad Behavior Costs Dale and Moon
Wednesday, August 21st , 2047
Yesterday at Marquette Stadium Jeffrey Dale and Wally Moon got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Marquette Miners and Tacoma Fur Traders. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Dale will have to sit out 5 while Moon would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
Thus far this season Dale has hit .213 with 14 home runs, 37 RBIs and scored 30 times.
Moon has a 2-9 season record so far. In 16 starts, he has fanned 49 batters in 84.1 innings with a 7.04 ERA.
