García Strokes 3 HR Against Yakima Sunday, September 15th , 2047 Crescent City first baseman León García saw a fantastic day go to waste at Field of the Krewe today as the Krewe dropped a 10-6 decision despite a trio of home runs from the youngster. "It seems kinda odd, you know?" a somewhat dejected García said after his club's defeat. "I mean, hitting three home runs in one game should be enough to win a game, right? I guess that's why they call it a team sport. Tomorrow I might strike out four times and other guys pick me up and we win. It takes more than one guy to get a win." The 22-year-old tallied three homers in a 3-for-3 day, and added 6 RBIs and 3 scored. "That guy really had a game, didn't he?" said Yakima manager Gerald Clark. "Luckily we were able to shut down the rest of the team. We are feeling good about getting out of here with the win." León García walked in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Yoshifumi Oshima in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Yoshifumi Oshima in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Stu Gordon in the 8th. So far this season, García has recorded a .302 batting average with 116 hits, 21 home runs, 68 RBIs, 72 runs scored and a .364 OBP. |
