Davis and Gavicho Brawl, League Suspends Them
Wednesday, July 10th , 2047
Yesterday at The Graveyard Bill Davis and Josse Gavicho got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Casper Ghosts and St. Petersburg Thunder. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Davis will have to sit out 3 while Gavicho would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
This season Davis is batting .265 with 7 home runs. His totals include 22 RBIs and 27 runs scored.
To date in the season, Gavicho is 1-0 with 6 relief appearances and no saves. He has held opposing batters to a .385 average, pitched 11.1 innings, struck out 13 and walked 4 while recording a 9.53 ERA.
