Shkurin's Strong Week Earns PAAA Trophy Monday, August 5th , 2047 23-year-old Jeirgif Shkurin made a few Calgary headlines during this past week as the rookie right fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and USPL Triple A officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 7 hits in 14 at-bats to put up a .500 average. Shkurin collected 4 home runs, 6 RBIs and scored 6 runs. So far this year in 64 games Shkurin is hitting .280 with 15 home runs, 41 RBIs and 46 runs scored. |
